ROOM OF FLORA AND CERES
My descendants
Flora and Ceres are the protagonists of this room, and, depicted in the center of the ceiling, symbolize joy, fertility and the abundance of the fruits of the earth. They must be a good omen for the marriage between the Count and Giacinta.
When the Count becomes a father, spring comes into his life, he sees flowers and plants blossom. The spring wind from the West inebriates him with his scents. The joy for the spouses is immense as if Flora and Ceres have given them a blessing.
Loss comes very soon, and that happiness is covered in a black veil by the death of their four young children.
But these stories are too painful, let’s go onwards.
